Screening Coppola Films In Bernalda

I love the idea of the entire town of Bernalda, Italy, being swept up in the wedding of Sofia Coppola and Thomas Mars. One of the most romantic details yet is the notion that Gaetano Russo, Francis Ford Coppola's great nephew, will be projecting scenes from the films of both Coppolas on building façades in Bernalda today in celebration of the nuptials. Imagining what this might look like, I was inspired to assemble my own version of the tribute; above you will recognize scenes from Sofia Coppola's films: Lick The Star, The Virgin Suicides, Lost in Translation, Marie Antoinette, and Somewhere, while below Francis Ford Coppola is surrounded by two of his masterpieces, Apocalypse Now and The Godfather.
