Sofia Coppola: Marni X H&M Commercial

As you know, Sofia Coppola directed the campaign for Marni X H&M due in stores 8 March and the video is now available online. Sofia's cast of pretty faces includes Imogen Poots, Liu Wen, Annabelle Dexter Jones, Sam Hayes, Antonine Peduzzi, Nicolas Peduzzi, Charlie Klarsfeld, Langley Fox, and Jonatan Frenck, on set at a villa in Marrakech at which the filmmaker had once vacationed. The dreamy short was shot to the tune of "Avalon" by Bryan Ferry with the dessert of Morocco providing the perfect romantic backdrop. When asked about her decision to film the commercial, Sofia explained: "I had never really done anything around fashion, and when they told me it was Marni it sounded like an interesting project. I always thought [Marni] made interesting fashion and that the prints were always unusual and they really have their own look — it doesn’t look like anything else.'" The stylists for the Marni X H&M campaign were Lucinda Chambers and Michelle Rafferty with Harris Savides acting as director of photographer. Sofia looks adorable backstage, directing in her trademark Charvet shirts, all business on the set.
